Jennifer and John's Kitchen

Jennifer & John’s kitchen is built from Douglas Fir plywood, selected not only for its warmth and grain but for the way it will gently deepen and “honey” over time. This natural ageing process allows the cabinetry to sit increasingly comfortably alongside the surrounding pine cladding, creating a space that will grow richer and more cohesive with the years.

The material palette is both thoughtful and distinctive. Beneath a glass-topped section of the island, sea glass has been incorporated as a subtle feature — a quiet moment of texture and light that adds individuality without disturbing the calm of the overall scheme.

The layout remains clear and well balanced, allowing the Douglas Fir to take centre stage. Storage is generous yet unobtrusive, and the detailing is precise, ensuring the craftsmanship is evident in every junction and surface.

A kitchen grounded in natural material, designed to mellow beautifully and belong ever more deeply to its setting over time.
