Worktops

Worktops

The choice of worktop shapes both the appearance and the practicality of a kitchen. It influences how the room feels day to day — not just how it photographs.

Over the years, our approach has evolved. Today, the majority of our kitchens feature Minerva solid composite work surfaces, and for good reason.

Minerva

Minerva has become our most specified surface, used in around 70% of our projects.

It offers the look and feel of stone, but with significant practical advantages. We cut, finish and install Minerva in our own workshop, meaning your worktops are fitted at the same time as your kitchen — no templating delays and no return visits required.

For clients keen to move back into their kitchen quickly, this is a major advantage.

Minerva is highly durable and particularly forgiving in busy family homes. Unlike quartz or natural stone, it can be sanded and refinished should it become marked or stained, making it a genuinely future-proof option.

It is robust without feeling industrial, refined without being delicate.

Quartz & Dekton

For those seeking a more dramatic or architectural finish, engineered stone surfaces such as quartz and Dekton remain a strong choice.

Quartz offers depth, consistency and a highly polished aesthetic that works beautifully in both plywood and hand-painted kitchens. Dekton, in particular, brings additional heat resistance and durability, making it well suited to heavily used cooking areas.

These surfaces are templated after kitchen installation and typically fitted around one to two weeks later.

They are sophisticated, durable and visually striking — though less forgiving than composite surfaces if damaged.

Other Surfaces

We are equally comfortable working with a range of alternative materials, including:
• Laminates (including Fenix) on plywood
• Solid timber and butcher’s block
• Stainless steel
• Concrete and other specialist finishes

Each material brings its own character and maintenance considerations. We’re always happy to discuss what will best suit your home, your cooking style and how you live day to day.

The right worktop is not simply a visual choice — it is about longevity, maintenance and how you use your kitchen.

We will guide you towards the option that feels resolved rather than fashionable.
