Kasia and Paul’s Kitchen
Kasia & Paul’s kitchen evolved significantly during the design process. What began as a simple straight run with an island grew into a more layered arrangement, responding to the architecture of the room as the renovation unfolded and revealing opportunities to introduce additional cabinetry in a subtle, well-balanced way.
The finished space provides generous, well-distributed storage without feeling overworked. A mobile island on lockable castors adds flexibility, while full-height cupboards are accessed via a smoothly running ladder, making use of the room’s height without dominating it. Bench seating has been integrated across a change in level, incorporating hidden storage and helping the kitchen connect naturally with the surrounding space.
Material choices bring warmth and character throughout. Birch plywood cabinetry is paired with Formica finishes in Pale Olive and Just Rose, while stainless steel and reeded glass details introduce contrast and texture. A Belfast sink with boiling water tap sits comfortably within the layout, alongside carefully considered display and utility storage, including a dedicated drinks cabinet and a discreet press cupboard for everyday essentials.
A matching plywood dining table completes the scheme, and the clients’ herringbone flooring ties everything together beautifully. Designed for a busy young family, this is a kitchen that feels generous, practical and quietly expressive — built to adapt as the home and its occupants evolve.
