Linda and Richard’s Oak Kitchen

Richard & Linda’s kitchen was designed for a coastal home in the Inner Hebrides, with material choices and detailing that reflect both its setting and the way the space is used day to day.

Oak-veneered birch plywood brings warmth and texture throughout the cabinetry, while Costa Esmeraldo granite has been used for both worktops and splashback, introducing natural pattern and depth. Subtle accents of colour are woven through the scheme, complementing the stone and softening the overall palette.

Storage is generous and carefully considered, with a strong emphasis on drawers and purpose-built compartments. A pocket-sliding breakfast larder allows smaller appliances to be neatly concealed, keeping the main working areas calm and uncluttered. Open shelving provides space to display Linda’s ceramics, adding a personal layer to the room.

A practical, well-ordered kitchen with a relaxed, lived-in feel — everything close to hand, and designed to sit comfortably within its coastal surroundings.
