Nicky and Ali's Kitchen
Nicky & Ali’s kitchen sits within a classic high-ceilinged Glasgow tenement, demonstrating how contemporary plywood cabinetry can sit comfortably within traditional architecture.
Two complementary colour schemes have been used to subtly distinguish the kitchen from the adjoining dining area, allowing each zone to have its own identity while remaining visually connected. The result is balanced and considered, with colour used to define space rather than dominate it.
Cabinetry has been kept to clean, simple lines, providing generous storage without climbing the full height of the room. By resisting the temptation to overbuild, the original architectural features — tall ceilings, generous proportions and period detailing — remain fully visible and integral to the character of the space.
A calm, confident kitchen that respects its setting while introducing clarity, warmth and practical design in equal measure.
